His fifth strike of the season makes him Le Havre's joint-top scorer in Ligue 1 as well as the highest-scoring Ghanaian in France, as reported by Pulse.

It was the former Marseille forward's second goal in successive matches for the club after netting in the thrilling draw at PSG last week.

The 34-year-old has been pivotal to the club's fight for survival with Le Havre currently 15th on the table, three points adrift of FC Metz, with three games remaining to end the season.

Ayew's contract with Le Havre expires at the end of the season but the French outfit could extend his deal should they survive the drop.

Meanwhile, he is expected to lead the Black Stars in June when the World Cup qualifiers resume as Ghana takes on Mali and the Central African Republic, as reported by Sports World Ghana.

Ayew extends scoring record against PSG

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Andre Ayew continued his goal-scoring run against French giants Paris Saint-Germain following his return to the Parc des Princes with Le Havre.

The Ghana captain scored as Le Havre held the French champions to a thrilling 3-3 draw and delayed their league triumph.

Ayew, who previously played for Lorient and Olympique Marseille in Ligue 1, netted for the fifth time against PSG.

Ayew calls for calm amid criticisms

Sports Brief also reported that Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew begged fans of the national team to remain patient despite Ghana's poor showings at recent competitions.

The West African nation have failed to advance beyond the group stages of the last two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations as well as the FIFA World Cup.

Pressure on the Ghanaian team led to the sacking of Chris Hughton as coach, with Otto Addo rehired to take command of the four-time African champions.
