Granit Xhaka's yellow card against Leeds United under scrutiny

Sports Brief had earlier reported that the circumstances surrounding the issuance of a yellow card against Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is under investigation. Xhaka was yellow carded in a Premier League game against Leeds United in the 86th minute at Elland Road on December 18th.

The Football Association(FA) had been alerted of suspicious betting activity around the incident and has been investigating the matter for six months. The FA has now handed the case over to National Crime Agency to dig deeper.

Neither Xhaka himself nor Arsenal, are under investigation. Concerns had been raised after an unusually high amount of money was placed on Xhaka getting a yellow card in the last 10 minutes of the game.
