John Heitinga, the new manager of Ajax, has praised Ghana midfielder, Mohammed Kudus for adding a creative spark to the team during their thumping win against Sc Cambuur.

The 22-year-old served up a delicious assist in the 5-0 victory on the road. as the Dutch champions continued their revival under the former Everton defender.

Kudus was rotated in games under ex-coach, Alfred Schreuder but seems to have found a place in the starting team since Heitinga took over.

His partnership with Steven Berghuis in the middle has proven fruitful for the Eredivisie giants.

"[Kudus and Berghuis] provide a lot of flexibility in the team and they should have that freedom. They are creative players who can score goals and provide assists," he said, as quoted by Ajax media.

Ajax captain, Dusan Tadic opened the scoring after 16 minutes with a clever finish from an outstanding team move.

Kudus then created a chance for Berghuis 20 minutes later, after going past his marker with a cheeky dribble.

The Dutch player extended the lead after the break before second-half substitute, Brian Brobbey sealed victory with a late double.

Heiting took over from Schreuder and will be in charge until the end of the season.

Kudus scores in Excelsior win

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Ghanaian midfielder, Kudus scoring a stunning goal as Ajax thumped Excelsior in the Eredivisie, to record their first win of 2023.

The Black Stars midfielder was also named Man of the Match after his dazzling display for the Dutch league giants.

Kudus took on one defender, before firing from outside the box in the 4-1 victory at the Van Donge and De Roo Stadion.

Ajax midfielder, Kudus has reacted to friend and Black Stars teammate, Kamaldeen Sulemana's move to Southampton.

The Ghanaian signed a four-and-a-half year deal to join the Premier League side from French club, Stade Rennais.

The Saints announced the arrival of the winger in the early hours of Wednesday morning, with Kudus reacting on social media.
