Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus scored a sensational goal as Ajax thumped Excelsior in the Dutch Eredivisie to record their first win of 2023.

The Black Stars midfielder was also named Man of the Match after his dazzling display for the Dutch giants.

Kudus took on one defender, before firing from outside the box in the 4-1 victory at the Van Donge and De Roo Stadion.

In a video shared on social media, the World Cup star netted his seventh goal in the Eredivisie in style.

Ajax got off to a great start after captain Dusan Tadic converted from the spot just 15 minutes into the game. The the hosts levelled through Redouan El Yaakoubi in the 36th minute.

However, Davy Klassen restored Ajax's lead with the last strike of the first half.

Kudus extended the lead after the hour mark before Devyne Rensch sealed victory with an 83rd minute strike.

The 22-year-old Ghanaian has now scored seven goals in the Eredivisie, his second in 2023.

The ex-Nordsjaelland star is on the radar of several clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool.

Kudus hails mother for discipline

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mohammed Kudus is full of praise for his mother for instilling in him the discipline and work ethic needed to be a successful person.

The Ajax star is having an amazing campaign despite the struggles of the Dutch champions, having scored 12 goals across all competitions.

Kudus scores against Volendam

Ghana's World Cup star, Mohammed Kudus is back on the score sheet after netting a stunning goal to rescue a point for Ajax against FC Volendam.

The 22-year-old came off the bench to score with ten minutes remaining as the game ended 1-1 at the Johan Cryuff Arena.

The relegation threatened Volendam had taken the lead just before the hour mark through Damon Mirani.
