The third edition of the hit movie is expected to be released to theatres on June 5, with Messi already taking a front row seat to promote it.

Smith and Lawrence were in Miami to shoot promotional content for their upcoming movie, which they co-star in. The video starts with Smith pointing to where he wants to kick the ball, but Messi waltzs in, much to the surprise of the actor.

The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner then hits the ball directly into the camera, recording the video leaving fans excited about his new gig.

Why Messi was absent against Vancouver Whitecaps

Messi was conspicuously absent in Inter Miami's latest game against Vancouver Whitecaps on May 26. Head Coach Tata Martino opted to rest his star man alongside his former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez.

Martino was happy to see his side grind a 2-1 win despite missing his stars who were rested.

"I really don't think I have to apologize, but in some ways, we are very sorry for not being able to travel with our stars. There is a question, we have or have come without our great players," he said as quoted by GOAL.

Messi started the season strongly, averaging a goal involvement in almost every game. The former Barcelona captain has 10 goals and 13 assists so far. The Herons will be forced to do without him for an extended period next month when he joins his country for the 2024 Copa America.

Highest-paid athletes in 2024

Sports Brief recently reported on Forbes' list of highest-paid athletes in 2024.

Cristiano Ronaldo leads the list for the fourth successive year with $260 million.

Messi is in third place, with the Inter Miami star earning $135 million, just behind golfer John Rahm, who has $218 million.
