His second goal against the German champions was adjudged the best goal of the competition by UEFA's Technical Observer Panel, as reported by the official website of UEFA.

The winger picked a misguided header from Amine Adli before nutmegging Granit Xhaka a few meters from the box and then curling home to give his side a two-goal advantage before the break.

He beat Pierre Emerick-Aubamenyang, who came second with his acrobatic finish against Ajax Amsterdam with Mohammed Kudus' solo against Freiburg placing third.

Lookman enjoyed an outstanding season in the competition, scoring five goals including a hat-trick in the final.
