Ademola Lookman, on the biggest night of his career so far, shared the stage with his mother after scoring a hat-trick in Atalanta's Europa League win.

The Nigerian forward stole the show with a masterful performance as the Italian outfit ended the German champions' unbeaten run of over 50 games.

Lookman opened the scoring in the 12th minute after blindsiding Exequiel Palacios, before curling home at distance for his second of the first half.

The Super Eagles star then made history by becoming the first player to net a hat-trick in a European Cup final after finishing off Gianluca Scamacca's pass with 15 minutes remaining.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Lookman and his mother celebrated the moment in style as she expressed how proud she is of her son.

Having already lost two finals this year, Lookman travelled to Dublin with his teammates as a player ready to end his run of losses against a very strong Leverkusen side.

The victory handed Atalanta their first European title while it was also the first time an Italian club had won the Europa League since the competition was re-formatted

His blistering performances also cemented his place as one of the favourites for CAF's 2024 African Player of the Year award.

Lookman crowned an outstanding campaign with 15 goals and eight assists across all competitions, per Transfermarkt.

The former England youth international will next join the Super Eagles for June's 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and the Benin Republic.
