Kelechi Iheanacho could leave Leicester City at the end of the season with his contract set to expire on June 30, 2024.

The Super Eagles forward reportedly refused to sign a contract extension as Aston Villa shows interest in him ahead of the summer transfer window.

Iheanacho and his Leicester City teammates gained promotion to the English Premier League after winning the Championship title.

During the team's celebration after their final game of the season against Blackburn Rovers, the former Manchester City forward admitted he is uncertain about his future at the King Power Stadium.

However, in a video that has since gone viral on social media, Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku hinted Iheanacho could leave the club as the latter was speaking by jokingly claiming that he's lying.

"I feel good, I feel great, it is a massive achievement," he said when asked about the return of Leicester to the Premier League.
"I don't know, I am still a Leicester player," he answered when asked about his future.

Meanwhile, Issahaku is set to sign a permanent deal with the Foxes after the English Premier League returnees triggered his buy option from Sporting Lisbon, as reported by Ghana Soccernet.

Iheanacho refuses new Leicester deal

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Kelechi Iheanacho could part ways with Leicester City at the end of the season after turning down a new deal from the newly promoted English Premier League side.

The Super Eagles forward had played a peripheral role for the Foxes this campaign, as coach Enzo Maresca preferred Zambian Patson Daka to lead the line for the Championship winners.

According to Punch NG, Leicester City had offered Iheanacho an improved contract with a weekly wage of £65,000 but the deal was turned down by the 27-year-old forward who is wanted by Aston Villa.

Issahaku joins Leicester on a permanent deal

Sports Brief also reported that Ghana winger, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku will join Leicester on a permanent deal after a successful loan spell with the Premier League returnees.

The 20-year-old has been rewarded with a fresh contract after playing a pivotal role in helping the Foxes win the English Championship and make a quick return to the English topflight.

Leicester City triggered the winger's 17 million euros buy option, which was part of the terms of his loan deal as the English outfit had the right to make the youngster's move permanent.
