Leicester City fans cheered on Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku after scoring a hat-trick in the 5-0 thrashing of Southampton in the English Championship on Tuesday night.

The 20-year-old forward led the Foxes to an emphatic win as they inch closer to a quick return to the English Premier League.

Issahaku has been the club's livewire since joining on loan from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon last summer, making his 18th goal contribution of the season.

In a video shared on social media, the former Steadfast FC player is seen sharing the moment with the fans, as they sang his name following his performance against the Saints.

The former Ghana U20 star walked away with the match ball after netting his first career hat-trick.

Meanwhile, between his goals were strikes from Nigerian midfielder Wilfried Ndidi and veteran forward Jamie Vardy.

Issahaku delivered the assist for Vardy's strike after sending in a perfectly measured cross from the right.

On Saturday, the Ghana international served the assist for the match-winner which was scored by Vardy in the victory over West Brom, his 12th of the season, per Transfermarkt.

Issahaku scores first career treble

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghanaian forward, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku scored a hat-trick as Leicester City thrashed promotion-chasers Southampton.

Issahaku also delivered an assist in the 5-0 victory over the Saints on Tuesday night.

Having played a pivotal role in Saturday's victory at West Bromwich Albion, Isshaku started and opened the scoring against Southampton at the King Power Stadium, finishing off a brilliant assist from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Issahaku's mother arrives in England

Sports Brief also reported that Abdul Fatawu Issahaku flew his mother to England to watch the English Championship game between Leicester City and Norwich City.

The 20-year-old forward starred as the Foxes recovered from a goal down to beat Norwich City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium earlier this month.

The former Ghana U20 star saw 88 minutes of action before he was replaced by James Justin.
