Palmer missed the game against Arsenal due to illness, and his absence was felt as the team suffered their biggest-ever defeat to their rivals 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

His return to the team did not do much, as the Blues were a VAR decision away from making a complete comeback against Villa after going 2-0 down at half-time.

Palmer dazzled fans with sublime skill

As seen in footage circulating on social media, the 21-year-old switched play with just two touches. First, he received the ball from Marc Cucurella's throw-in and tapped it forward for Mykhailo Mudryk.

The Ukrainian made a loose control but shielded it for Palmer to get close enough and switch it to the other side of the pitch for Trevoh Chalobah, who played as a right-back.
