Kalidou Koulibaly proved too strong for compatriot Sadio Mane during the Saudi Super Cup clash between Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr on Monday night.

The Saudi Pro League leaders defeated Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr 2-1 to advance to the final, keeping their quadruple dreams alive.

Mane scored a late consolation for the Knight of Najd moments after a bizarre incident saw captain and talisman Ronaldo sent off.

In a video shared on social media, Mane had a go at compatriot Koulibaly, but the Al-Hilal defender was a force as he stopped the former Liverpool winger from making his deadly runs on the flanks.

Fans of Al-Hilal applauded the centre-back for stopping Mane from causing troubles in the Super Cup game.

Meanwhile, after a barren first-half, Al-Hilal raced to a two-goal lead in the second half after Salem Al-Dawsari and Malcom scored in the space of ten minutes.

Earlier, Portuguese midfielder Octavio had a goal disallowed by the referee to deny Al-Nassr the lead.

The defeat means Ronaldo, Mane and Al-Nassr will end the season trophyless, as reported by Arab Business.

Mane scores in Al-Nassr defeat

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Senegalese winger, Sadio Mane scored after Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off in Al-Nassr's loss to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final.

The Knights of Najd lost 2-1 to the Blue Waves at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in UAE on Monday evening (April 8).

The Saudi Pro League leaders scored the first goal of the game in the 61st minute, courtesy of Salem Al Dawsari's strike from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's through ball.

Ronaldo sent off in Saudi Super Cup

Sports Brief also reported that Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off as Al-Nassr suffered a huge setback after Al-Nassr lost 2-1 to Al Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final.

The 39-year-old saw red late in the second half as his Al-Nassr side crashed out of the competition, with Al Hilal stretching their remarkable winning streak to 33 games as they reached the final of the Super Cup.
