  • Sadio Mane hit the back of the net for Al-Nassr after Cristiano Ronaldo's red card against Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup
  • The former Bayern Munich winger's goal could not help the Knights of Najd avoid defeat against the Blue Waves in the UAE
  • The Senegalese and Ronaldo missed out on another opportunity to add to their trophy cabinet in the Middle Eastern nation

Senegalese winger, Sadio Mane, found the back of the net after Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off in Al-Nassr's loss to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final.

The Knights of Najd lost 2-1 to the Blue Waves at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in UAE on Monday evening (April 8).

The Saudi Pro League leaders scored the first goal of the game in the 61st minute, courtesy of Salem Al Dawsari's strike from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's through ball.

Jorge Jesus' men doubled their lead 11 minutes after former Barcelona winger Malcom met with a cross from another Brazilian, Michael, in the 72nd minute.

Al-Nassr's night turned from bad to worse after their captain, Ronaldo, was red carded for an off-the-ball incident with three minutes left to play.

In a viral video shared on social media, Mane scored Al-Nassr's only goal of the game in the added time after being set up by Abdulrahman Ghareeb.

The goal was too late for Luis Castro's men to stage a comeback and could only serve as a consolation.

Al-Nassr's next match will be against Al-Fahya in the Saudi Pro League on Friday, April 19, according to a report by Soccerway.

Mane delighted as Senegal beat Benin

Sports Brief also reported that Sadio Mane expressed happiness following Senegal's back-to-back victories in the March international break.

The former Liverpool star scored the only goal as the Teranga Lions defeated Benin in Amiens to wrap up their preparations for June's FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The former Liverpool winger was also on target as the 2021 Africa champions thrashed Gabon.
