2024 UEFA Champions League quarter-finalists

Borussia Dortmund

Dortmund advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League after beating PSV Eindhoven 2-0 in the second leg on Wednesday night.

Jadon Sancho immediately eased fans' nerves, scoring a goal with a shot from the edge of the area in the third minute to give Dortmund a 2-1 lead on aggregate.

Marco Reus sealed their passage to the next round with a strike deep into second-half stoppage time.

Atletico Madrid

Penalty drama once again ensued in the Champions League on Wednesday, with Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan's Round of 16 tie heading into the dreaded shootout.

It was Atletico, who held their nerve, beating Inter 3-2 on penalties to advance to the last 8 of the Champions League. Jan Oblak starred for the Spanish side, making two saves in the shootout, per The Guardian.

Arsenal

The Gunners reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2010, beating Porto in a dramatic penalty shootout in the Round of 16.

David Raya starred for Arsenal in the win, making two saves in the shootout.

Barcelona

The Catalan giants reached the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since Lionel Messi left the club, beating Napoli in the Round of 16.

They eased past the Italian club 3-1 in the second leg, with Fermin Lopez, Joao Cancelo, and Robert Lewandowski scoring the goals for Barcelona.

Manchester City

City remained on course to defend their Champions League title, beating FC Copenhagen 6-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16.

They remained perfect in this year's tournament, winning all eight of their matches in the group stage and the knockout rounds.

Real Madrid

A nervy 1-1 draw at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg was enough for Real Madrid to book their place in yet another Champions League quarter-final.

Vinicius Junior broke the deadlock in the 65th minute to help Los Blancos win 2-1 on aggregate.

Paris Saint-Germain

Kylian Mbappe is on a mission to give a Champions League title to PSG before he leaves.

He led them to victory in the Round of 16, scoring three of their four goals in the win against Real Sociedad. PSG reached the Champions League quarters for the first time since the 2020-21 season.

Bayern Munich

Harry Kane's quest to win his first-ever trophy remained alive after leading Bayern Munich to victory in the Round of 16 against Lazio.

The Englishman scored twice in the 3-0 victory at Allianz Arena to help erase a 1-0 deficit heading into the second leg.

UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw

The draw for the quarter-finals of this year's Champions League will be held on Friday, March 15, at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

The draws for the semi-finals and final of the European Cup will also be held on the same date, per the BBC, with the draws for the Europa League and Europa Conference League on Friday.

Top African players in Champions League quarters

Sports Brief recently reported on the top 5 Africans who could win the UCL this season.

Thomas Partey topped the list after Arsenal reached the quarter-finals earlier this week.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting also made the list after helping Bayern Munich into the last 8.
