Going into the game, Morocco were ranked number one on the continent and 13th in the world, but they were no match for Hugo Broos’ men.

As noted by News24, South Africa beat The Atlas Lions 2-0 thanks to goals from Orlando Pirates' Evidence Makgopa and Mamelodi Sundowns' Teboho Mokoena.

The win means that South Africa now progress to the quarterfinals of the tournament where they will face Cape Verde on Saturday, February 3. With the side knocking out one of the tournament favourites, Bafana fans have taken to social media to celebrate the victory.
