Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has heaped praise on winger, Amad Diallo, after his dazzling display against Newcastle United on Wednesday, May 15.

The Ivorian youngster netted his first Premier League goal to inspire the Red Devils to a 3-2 victory at Old Trafford in their final home game of the season.

Diallo has been knocking on the door for game time for some time and has been one of the brightest aspects of a United side that struggled this campaign.

The youngster scored the winner in the FA Cup quarter-final clash against Liverpool and was also Man of the Match in the thrilling encounter.

Ten Hag has extolled the qualities of Diallo after his performance against Newcastle United, also noting his 'brilliant' goal in the game.

"You see how young players are developing, like Amad, and I was really pleased with his performance and it was a great goal. He is very good. He has high potential. He is a symbol for the season as he had a bad injury. He fought himself back and had to wait long for his chance and, on Sunday, and also tonight, he was very good," he said after the game, as quoted by the club's official website.

Meanwhile, Diallo has insisted his patience is paying off after a slow start to his career at Old Trafford.

"As a player, you need to be patient," he said. "It’s not easy when you train hard [and] don’t get what you want. Now I have got my chance and I scored. I’m very happy for that," he said, as quoted by Yahoo Sports.

Manchester United travel to Brighton and Hove Albion on the final day of the Premier League season - May 19.

Diallo reacts after debut EPL goal

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Diallo shared his excitement after scoring his debut Premier League goal in the victory over Newcastle.

The Ivory Coast winger gave United the lead after the break as the Red Devils ended a run of poor results to secure victory at Old Trafford.

Diallo, who limped off during their defeat to Arsenal, passed a late fitness test and was handed a starting role in their last season home tie.
