The statement could sound ironic, given that Todd Boehly's ownership has spent over a billion euros on new players with little success.

But after another lethargic performance at Goodison Park with no real cutting edge, Pochettino will be forced to look for reinforcements in the January window.

ES Correspondent Nizaar Kinsella adds that the former Paris Saint-Germain manager believes that height is an issue and the squad is imbalanced. The club is looking for a defender, a midfielder and a striker.

Taking chances has been Pochettino's greatest undoing with Nicolas Jackson, who is particularly guilty of missing high-profile chances. Napoli's Victor Osimhen has been labelled as a top priority target.

It remains unknown what sort of midfielder Pochettino will target, with reports indicating that the club would be willing to listen to offers for Conor Gallagher yet again.

Defense-wise, the Blues have at least four fit centre-backs as Wesley Fofana continues to recuperate from an ACL injury.
