Real Madrid remain in hot pursuit of full-back Alphonso Davies. The Bayern Munich defender appears to be the name unanimously agreed on by the Spanish club’s hierarchy to anchor the left-back position for the coming decade.
However, amid Real Madrid's persistent interest, parent club Bayern Munich remains steadfast in its refusal to part with the talented defender.
Given the number of years left on Davies' contract, the Bundesliga club appear in a race against time to tie the 23-year-old to a new contract.
Initial discussions between Bayern and Davies had taken place in May, but negotiations were temporarily halted due to internal issues faced by the club, leading to a significant restructuring of its hierarchy.

FootballBayern had hoped to resume talks with Davies to extend his contract. Nevertheless, the player's representative, Nedal Huoseh, has presented new demands, hence complicating the negotiations.
Reports from Diario AS indicate that Davies, currently engaged in talks with Bayern Munich regarding a contract extension, is now requesting an annual salary of €15 million.
This figure poses a considerable challenge for Bayern, especially considering that Davies and his representative initially sought €12mil before Real Madrid entered the fray.
Spanish outlet Relevo adds that Real Madrid's hierarchy views negotiations for Davies as 'very advanced,' expressing strong optimism that Bayern's reluctance to meet his €15mil salary demands will work to their advantage.
This situation prompts Real Madrid to pursue the sale of French full-back Ferland Mendy actively, anticipating Davies to assume the role from the next season onward.
