Unai Emery isn’t going to let one of his key players join his former team.
After their win over Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday, the Aston Villa manager made it clear that Douglas Luiz is not for sale.
He reiterated his club’s stance after several reports linked Arsenal with a move for the talented midfielder.
Emery talked to reporters about Luiz after Villa’s upset win, saying:
"Douglas is playing very good. His commitment [is] amazing. I want to keep him, and he is happy with us."
According to The Standard, the Gunners tried to bring Luiz to North London last year, but they were unsuccessful in their attempts to sign the Brazilian.

FootballArsenal made three deadline-day bids for the midfielder, with the Gunners submitting a final offer of £25 million to acquire his services.
Villa didn’t budge even with Arsenal’s increased offer. They held on to Luiz, who has since signed a new contract with Aston Villa, committing his future to the club until 2026.
The rumours linking Luiz with Arsenal won’t go away, though, as the Gunners are desperate to shore up their midfield ahead of next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Thomas Partey, who’s out with a thigh injury, is expected to join that competition alongside Mohamed Elneny.
Luiz has been a vital cog for Villa this season, leading the club to their best-ever start for 25 years.
He has scored five goals and dished out two assists for Villa, who are right in the thick of the title race, trailing leaders Arsenal by just two points after 13 matches.
