Can anyone stop Erling Haaland in the Premier League Golden Boot race?

The Norwegian forward remains on course to defend his title, scoring a goal against Liverpool last Saturday.

He extended his lead against Reds star Mohamed Salah, who is the only other player in double-figures in the English top flight's goal-scoring charts this season.

Premier League 2023/24 Top Scorers

1. Erling Haaland (Manchester City, 14 goals)

Haaland is simply on fire.

The 23-year-old striker scored the opener in Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Saturday to stretch his goal tally in the Premier League to 14 this season.

Haaland made history with that strike, becoming the fastest player to reach 50 goals in the Premier League. He needed just 48 league appearances for City to accomplish that feat, per Yahoo Sports.

He has been a machine for City this season, scoring in nine out of their 13 league matches.

Three of his goals were scored through penalties.

2. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool, 10)

Salah lost ground to Haaland in the Golden Boot race after the Liverpool star failed to find the back of the net in Saturday's top-of-the-table clash with Man City.

He now trails the Norwegian by four goals, with the Reds ace stuck at 10 after Matchday 13.

The Egyptian forward has scored in seven out of Liverpool's 13 league matches this season, including braces against Brighton, Everton, and Brentford.

Three of Salah's goals in the league this season came via penalties.

3. Jarrod Bowen (West Ham, 8)

Bowen failed to add to his goal tally in West Ham United's come-from-behind 2-1 win over Burnley last Saturday.

He suffered a knee injury while with England during the international break and was deemed not ready by West Ham staff to face Burnley over the weekend.

He now trails Haaland by six goals in the Golden Boot race, with Bowen stuck at eight after Matchday 13.

3. Son Heung-min (Tottenham, 8)

Son failed to score in Spurs' last three league matches against Chelsea, Wolves, and Aston Villa, all of which ended in defeats for Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite firing blanks recently, he remains tied for third in the Golden Boot race after scoring eight goals during a seven-game stretch from Matchday 4 to 10.

Five of those goals came in the games against Burnley and Arsenal. He netted a hat-trick in Spurs' 5-2 victory over Burnley on Matchday 4 and scored twice at the Emirates Stadium in Tottenham's 2-2 draw with the Gunners on Matchday 6.
