  • Mohamed Salah achieved yet another feat with his goals for Liverpool on Sunday
  • The Egyptian moved to second in the Golden Boot race, two behind Erling Haaland
  • Salah's strikes against Brentford put him on an elite list along with Thierry Henry

Liverpool ace, Mohamed Salah continued his record-breaking streak as his two goals against Brentford on November 12 put him in an elite group of Premier League legends.

The Reds leapt to second on the log thanks to the 3-0 win over the Bees, with the game serving as a reminder of just how important the Egyptian is to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Salah came up with two clinical finishes, one in either half, with his first goal coming from a Darwin Nunez assist.

Diogo Jota sealed the win with Liverpool’s third goal but the talk of the game remained Salah, whose goal-scoring streak earned him several unique milestones.

The Egyptian ace's first strike made him the first player to score in each of Liverpool's first six home Premier League games of a season, according to TalkSport.

When he added a second goal in the second half, Salah has now been involved in more goals for the Reds at Anfield than appearances (119 goals in 117 matches).

Salah now has 200 goals in English football, which is quite a feat considering how tough life was when he first started out in the Premier League with Chelsea.

Salah joins elite group of EPL legends

The best stat of the bunch, as a result of Salah’s goals against Brentford, saw him become only the third player in history to have an EPL goal contribution in 15 consecutive home games.

Only Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry and the Premier League’s all-time top scorer, Alan Shearer have achieved this feat.

Salah will be hoping to retain his form after the international break as Liverpool face a tricky test against table-toppers and defending champions, Manchester City on Saturday, November 25.

Liverpool face tough run in next 6 fixtures

Sports Brief also reported on the EPL title race taking an exciting twist and after 12 games of the 2023/24 season, it has now become obvious who are real contenders.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Liverpool are the early pace-setters in the race, with each side now experiencing a defeat at some point in the season.

The Reds are just two points behind the Citizens on the Premier League table as of the weekend, moving up with their comprehensive 3-0 win over Brentford on Sunday.
