Fati to the Premier League soon?

Barcelona, Fati’s agent Jorge Mendes, and his father, Bori, have been trying to convince the young star to go to another team on loan this season for him to play regular football.

Chelsea and Tottenham had both been linked with the Spanish star, but Brighton have emerged as surprise front-runners to complete the ambitious loan deal.

Brighton's Fati loan deal revealed

According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal is already in place between Barcelona and Brighton, and a verbal agreement with Fati is now done.

He added that there is a ''no buy option clause'' in the loan deal, which will run until June 2024. Also, the main part of Fati’s salary is covered by Brighton.

Toni Juanmarti reported that the Premier League side will cover 70 to 75 percent of Fati’s salary for this season.

Romano also reported that Fati’s travel has been booked on Thursday and that Brighton would want to conclude the loan deal as soon as possible.

Fati's injury struggles at Barca

Fati has struggled to get regular playing time since recovering from various hamstring and knee problems ahead of the 2022/23 season, per ESPN.

He finally was healthy last season, making 51 appearances for Barca. The majority of those, however, came with Fati as a substitute, much to his frustration.

Bori called for his son to quit the club, saying he was annoyed by the way the reigning La Liga champs were treating Fati, who has a contract with them until 2027 and a €1 billion release clause.

Brighton looking to strengthen their attack

Brighton are looking to bolster their lineup before the transfer deadline after selling Moises Caicedo to Chelsea.

Sports Brief reported that the Blues forked out a British record fee of £115 million to land the Ecuadorian star.

Brighton initially agreed a deal with Liverpool, but Caicedo refused a move to the Merseyside club.
