With playing opportunities hard to come by, Ansu Fati reportedly wants to leave Barcelona. Fati played just 11 minutes in the Blaugrana's opening La Liga match of the 2023/24 season.

The La Masia graduate was tipped for greatness, but injuries have made it difficult, and multiple reports indicate that he could be seeking greener pastures. Atletico Madrid was one of the clubs that was linked with Fati.

He managed 12 La Liga starts in the 2022/23 season, which is the most he's had in his career with the Catalan giants, per Transfermarkt. The competition for places is also difficult at Barcelona.

Youngster Lamine Yamal, who is 16, is fighting for a position in the wider areas, putting more pressure on Fati. Raphinha and Ferran Torres are also fighting for a spot on the wings. Robert Lewandowski is the undisputed number-one striker option.

Will Fati leave this summer?

According to AS, Fati wanted to stay and prove his worth, but has since changed his mind and lost Xavi's 'trust'. His current deal with the club expires in 2027.

Several English clubs, including Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, have been linked with the youngster.

The 20-year-old made 51 appearances for the club last season and scored seven goals.

As reported by AS, manager Xavi has asked for more reinforcements in attack, which means that a starting spot will be in jeopardy due to stiff competition. If the club brings in more players, Fati could end up leaving on loan.

Ansu Fati destroys Arsenal

Sports Brief earlier reported on Fati and Alejandro Balde destroying Arsenal defenders during their pre-season friendly.

Arsenal defenders Ben White and Bukayo Saka were the victims of Balde and Fati's brilliance.

The Gunners had the last laugh, though, as they won the match 5-3.
