Cristiano Ronaldo is the top earner on Instagram, as no other athlete or celebrity earns more than the former Manchester United forward on the social media platform.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has overtaken American media personality Kylie Jenner who previously held the top spot following the rise in his charges per IG post.

According to Sportskeeda, Ronaldo earns a whopping £1.87 million per sponsored post on Instagram, more than the £1.47 million Kylie Jenner pockets for every sponsored post.

The 38-year-old forward's arch-rival Lionel Messi is placed third in the list of highest earners on IG, with £1.38 million per sponsored post, while Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner are also in the top 10.

Ronaldo, who is currently playing in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr, remains the most followed individual on the social media platform with over 600 million followers.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has sparked talk of a potential contract breach after he appeared to wear an Adidas item during Al-Nassr's 5-0 defeat to Celta Vigo, Sport Bible reports.

The Portugal attacker has been a Nike ambassador since 2003 when he inked his first contract with the American sportswear company. He has become one of the most marketable athletes of all time, signing a $1 billion lifetime contract in 2016.
