With Arsenal hot on their heels, Pep Guardiola's men needed to avoid defeat against West Ham United to reclaim the title at the Etihad Stadium.

Phil Foden and Rodri were both on target against the Hammers, with their goals enough to help City beat the Gunners to the trophy.

According to @centregoals, the Citizens' triumph also saw Ederson become the most successful goalkeeper in the Premier League's history.

The Brazil international has become the first keeper to win an impressive six Premier League crowns. Sports Brief takes a look at the top five goalkeepers with the most EPL trophies.

5 goalkeepers with most Premier League titles

5. Joe Hart (2)

The Englishman, who recently called time on his career, was sort of a journeyman after he left Man City in 2018.

However, the best time of his career came during his time at the Etihad, where he won two Premier League titles in the 2011/12 and 2013/14 seasons.

4. Edwin van der Sar (4)

The Dutch legend was vital to Sir Alex Ferguson's success at Manchester United.

Van der Sar won four league titles during his stint at Old Trafford, with victories in 2006/07, 2007/08, 2008/09, and 2010/11.

3. Petr Cech (4)

Like Van der Sar, Petr Cech also won four league titles.

While the legendary goalkeeper played for both Chelsea and Arsenal, his success in the EPL came at Stamford Bridge.

He won his first in 2004/05, with his last coming in 2014/15.

2. Peter Schmeichel (5)

Another Manchester United great who enjoyed an illustrious career at the Theatre of Dreams, the Danish goalkeeper secured five titles during his career, winning his first in 1992/93.

His last came during the 1998/99 campaign when United also secured a historic treble.

1. Ederson (6)

Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2017, the Brazilian has enjoyed a dream start to life.

According to Sky Sports, City signed Ederson from Benfica for £34.7 million.

The 30-year-old has won six titles in the seven years he has been with the Citizens.

Ederson misses final game of the season

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Ederson missing Manchester City's final game of the season after he picked up an injury against Tottenham.

Scans are said to have confirmed that the keeper suffered a small fracture to the right eye socket after a collision with Spurs' Cristian Romero.
