According to Sky Sports, Ilkay Gundogan's double was enough to seal a momentous win for City, who are now on course to win a historic treble.

Gundogan scored the fastest-ever FA Cup final goal during the tie, with the German midfielder needing just 12 seconds to break the deadlock.

While United went on to restore parity via Bruno Fernandes, the Portuguese star's goal from the penalty was not enough to stop City as Gundogan netted the winner with a crisp volley.

Man City stars miss out on medal

It has now emerged that two Man City stars missed out on the FA Cup winners' medal.

The Sun reports that both Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne were left without a medal, with the publication reporting the FA ran out.

While De Bruyne was later handed one by keeper Ederson, match hero Gundogan was left without one.

The Germany international was spotted celebrating the FA Cup triumph without one around his neck.

However, the likes of forgotten man Kalvin Phillips and youngsters Cole Palmer and Rico Lewis did get one.

Mahrez reacts after FA Cup win

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Algerian winger Riyal Mahrez had to borrow a popular phrase from American DJ and music producer, DJ Khaled, to share his excitement after adding the FA Cup to the Premier League title.

Manchester City beat rivals Manchester United 2-1 at Wembley to win their second trophy of the season.

The Citizens could secure the treble if they beat Inter Milan in the final of the UEFA Champions League next week.
