  • Real Madrid are reported to have made Jude Bellingham their top transfer target
  • However, Borussia Dortmund director Sebastian Kehl said nothing is confirmed
  • There has been plenty of speculation to suggest Bellingham talks are underway

Earlier in the month, Borussia Dortmund's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl refused to comment on the future of Jude Bellingham, suggesting the player was focusing on the ongoing Bundesliga title race more than anything else.

In a recent interaction with the media, Kehl re-iterated his position, adding there had been no negotiations with Real Madrid - or any club, for that matter - regarding Bellingham.

This is in sharp contrast to recent reports doing the round regarding the midfielder's future at Dortmund.

“No offer on the table at the moment, no news, nothing to decide - Jude’s focused on the final games, then we’ll see,” Kehl said, per ESPN.

Kehl’s comments come against the backdrop of various sources linking Bellingham with a move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants are said to be confident of securing the services of the Englishman at the end of the season, and are reportedly willing to break the bank for his signature and ready to smash their recruitment record in the process.

However, Kehl has insisted there is nothing to report on the sale front at Dortmund.

Though an agreement about Bellingham has yet to be reached, Goal reports this will be the trickiest part for the club who are likely to hold out for a hefty sum for the midfielder’s services.

When asked about any offers received for their English star, Kehl said the priority was keeping talent within Dortmund's structures beyond the summer.

“Astronomical bids? We’ve no guidelines. We always fight to keep the best players here,” he said.

Bellingham’s current contract at Dortmund expires in 2025, but the German giants have been trying to renew his deal by offering him a lucrative salary.

However, it does appear the player is determined to take the next step in his career, with Real Madrid a likely destination.

In the meantime, though, Bellingham will indeed look to focus on the Bundesliga title race. Dortmund are currently second on the table, trailing Bayern Munich by just a point with two matches remaining.

Bellingham is Dortmund's bigger picture

Bellingham, who signed for Dortmund from boyhood club, Birmingham City in the summer of 2020, has gone on to make a staggering 132 appearances for the Bundesliga club.

He is currently tied to a contract at Signal Iduna Park through to 2025.

Alongside the interest from Real Madrid, Bellingham has also been heavily linked with a switch to Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, or Manchester City - but he could well continue his development outside of England.

Bellingham ready to join Madrid

As reported earlier by Sports Brief, in spite of other Premier League clubs vying for the signature of the 19-year-old, it appears Bellingham wants to join Real Madrid.

According to Football Espana, the English midfielder is very interested in joining Los Blancos - according to former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp.

The 19-year-old Dortmund star currently has a price tag of £130 million owing to his distinguished performances, which seems to have cooled off interest from Liverpool and Manchester City somewhat.
