Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial may have played their last games for Manchester United ahead of their summer exit.

The two, who are set to depart Old Trafford at the end of the season, took some time to say their farewell to United fans on Wednesday night, May 15.

Both players were not involved as the Red Devils hosted Newcastle United at Old Trafford for their last home game of the season.

Varane failed to feature in the tie due to injury, while Martial, who has been sidelined for the better part of the season, lacked match fitness.

However, Metro UK reports that the Frenchmen came out onto the pitch after the match to bid farewell to fans ahead of their departure.

Manchester United announce Varane's exit

The move came just a day after United announced Varane would be departing after three years at the club.

In a video shared on social media, the centre-back expressed his appreciation to the fans for their support during his time at Old Trafford.

"I fell in love with the club, with the fans. You have to play for Man United to understand what that represents. For my kids, it’s home here. It’s going to be a special place for me for life," he said.

The World Cup winner has made 93 appearances for the Manchester club since his arrival from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021.

Martial, meanwhile, is also on his way out after failing to make his mark due to injuries.

The striker has spent nine years at the club, having arrived in 2015 from Monaco.

Ronaldo wants Bruno Fernandes

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly urged Al Nassr to sign Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes ahead of the summer transfer window.

Reports claim that the United skipper is a major summer transfer target for Al-Nassr, and Ronaldo has already greenlighted the transfer.
