Ghana and RC Lens midfielder, Abdul Samed Salis has been handed a three-game suspension following his red card in the match against Paris-Saint Germain.

The defensive midfielder was sent off in the 19th minute after a reckless tackle on PSG defender, Achraf Hakimi.

After a review of the game by the Disciplinary Committee of the French league, Ligue 1 has suspended the 23-year-old for further games.

Salis will miss Lens' Ligue 1 games against AS Monaco, Toulouse, and Olympique Marseille. The French club confirmed the player's suspension on social media.

The statement is translated as follows:

"The verdict of the Disciplinary Committee is known. Excluded for the first time of the season in the 19th minute of PSG vs Lens for an uncontrolled gesture - fortunately without consequence for the affected Parisian player - Salis Abdul Samed received a three-game suspension," the club tweeted.

Salis joined Lens from Clermont Foot in the summer transfer window and has become an integral part of his new team. He has made 29 Ligue appearances for the Red and Yellows.

The midfielder's absence will be a huge blow for Lens, who are chasing a UEFA Champions League finish this term.

Salis sees red vs PSG

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on football fans reacting on social media after Salis was shown a red card for his tackle on Hakimi in a Ligue 1 encounter.

The Black Stars midfielder was carded after 19 minutes, following a reckless tackle on the Moroccan, whose team went on to win at Parc des Princes.

Hakimi has been trending on social media recently after unconfirmed reports revealing details of the divorce from his estranged partner, Hiba Abouk.

Hakimi responds to Salis' apology

Sports Brief also reported on PSG defender, Hakimi responding to Salis' apology after the Ligue 1 encounter against RC Lens.

The Black Stars midfielder was sent off for a reckless tackle on the Moroccan in the 19th minute of the top-of-the-table clash.

Salis' red card meant RC Lens played the rest of the game with 10 men and eventually lost the match 3-1 at Parc des Prince.
