  • Chelsea are gradually coming out of their poor run of form after avoiding defeat in their last two games
  • They have the weekend off having been eliminated from the FA Cup in the third round
  • Graham Potter is using the time off for a series of motivating activities for his squad ahead of return to action next week

Chelsea under Graham Potter have had mixed fortunes in results, having enjoyed a good run in his first games, before a run of one win in 10 games which saw the team sink to 10th on the Premier League table.

The Blues have avoided defeat in their last two league games, a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge and an unentertaining draw against Liverpool at Anfield.

Ahead of their return to Premier League action on February 3 against London rivals Fulham, Potter is using the time off to use an unorthodox means to motivate his players and as a means of team bonding for new signings.

As reported by Sun UK, the former Brighton manager took the team to the Bordon and Longmoor Military Camp, Liss, Hampshire last Tuesday to engage the players in mental exercises.

As revealed by UK Sports, Potter has a masters degree in emotional intelligence and leadership at an Open University in the UK, so it comes as no surprise he is using his experience in engaging his players for a turnaround in their season.

He employed an unorthodox means of coaching during his time at Ostersunds, by making his players dance ballet, wrote a book, did an art exhibition as well as rapping a Finnish song, as reported by Sky Sports.

It is not the first time a Chelsea team had visited a military facility, the U19 team visited the Aldershot Military barracks in 2018 during the UEFA Youth League match, as reported by Chelsea official website.

Potter sends difficult message to fans

Sports Brief earlier reported that Potter has made a reality admission that Chelsea fans won't like amidst their current spending spree to strengthen the squad.

He told the fans it does not immediately stop the club's poor run of form, as it takes time for the new signings to adapt into the team and build consistency.

Todd Boehly has spent £189m this January, on Benoit Badiashile, David Fofana, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke as well as João Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid amongst others.
