Zinchenko Backs Nketiah to Fill Jesus Void Ahead of Premier League Return

Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko has backed Eddie Nketiah to succesffully fill the void left by Gabriel Jesus.

Jesus, who joined the Gunners in the summer has played a central role in the club's impressive start to the Premier League.

The Brazilian star has already scored five goals in the English top flight to help the north Londoners launch a serious title bid.

However, Daily Mail reports that the star forward is set for a lengthy period on the sidelines after he suffered an injury during the World Cup.

His injury sparked fears Arsenal could suffer a huge blow as they chase the Premier League title.

Zinchenko backs Nketiah to shine

However, Zinchenko contends Nketiah has all it takes to slot in for Jesus and help keep the north Londoners' momentum.

According to the former Manchester City defender, Arsenal teammates have full confidence in the Englishman.

"I have no doubts that Nketiah is going to do his job amazingly and everyone trusts him," the Ukraine international told Arsenal’s official website.
"We have such a great group of people. We have this feeling of togetherness. As a team, we need to stick together," he added.

Arsenal are scheduled to take on West Ham United on Boxing Day when the Premier League resumes after the World Cup hiatus.

Evra warns Arsenal

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Patrice Evra has warned that Arsenal's chances of winning the EPL would be done if William Saliba picks an injury.

The former defender contends that it is important for the Gunners to make critical signings in January to maintain the momentum.

The north Londoners currently have a five-point advantage on top of the standings over Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta's charges will return to action on Boxing Day to face rivals West Ham United.
