  • The Tottenham Hotspur star made the promise if he could lead Brazil to a sixth World Cup
  • Brazil has started brilliantly, with Richarlison scoring twice in the opener against Serbia

Richarlison has sent out an indication that he will pursue popular Brazilian singer Anitta after he wins the World Cup.

Brazil have already qualified for the round of 16 after a blistering start in Qatar, which has seen them collect maximum points from their first two games.

Richarlison got the Selecao going in their first game against Serbia with a beautiful brace that involved an overhead kick. Casemiro then scored late on against Switzerland to ensure the last tie against Cameroon could be a mere formality.

But apart from winning a major title, the Tottenham Hotspur striker has set another target in his personal life. In an interview in 2021, the striker said that if he won the World Cup with Brazil, he would formally ask Anitta to go out with her.

He was asked about his promise after the win against Switzerland, but he brushed it aside.

"Leave that for later. My focus now is the World Cup," he laughed as quoted by Superesportes.

Anitta has a following of over 63 million on Instagram and has led a highly successful career. Her Show das Poderosas single catapulted her to fame in 2013.

She was married before to Thiago Magalhaes but divorced after one year, as Wikipedia reports.

Richarlison could give way to Gabriel Jesus in the final game against Cameroon before making a comeback in the round of 16.

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Richarlison scored a stunning goal against Serbia, in Brazil's opening game of the 2022 World Cup.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker scored his first in the 62nd minute to give the Samba Boys a commanding lead, despite a ragged start against the European side.

Serbia provided a tough test for Tite's side early in the game, but Brazil upped the ante as the first half waned. The European side got a few decent chances but were unable to trouble Alisson.

The Samba Boys could not find some rhythm in the first half, as Serbia double- and triple-teamed Neymar, who was looking to create chances for his teammates.
