  • Richarlison scored a brace as the Samba Boys lived up to the hype as pre-tournament favourites
  • The second goal from the Tottenham Hotspur striker is now a goal of the competition contender

Richarlison and Dani Alves were all Brazilian in the dying embers of their 2022 World Cup opening match against Serbia.

The two were spotted in high spirits following the win, after Richarlison's stunning brace gave the pre-tournament favourites a good win over a stubborn Serbia side.

For Brazil, the first half wasn't as smooth as they would've wished against a solid and talented Serbian team. They created chances but couldn't get past the European side's resolute defence.

In the second half, the Samba Boys upped the ante, with Vinicius Jnr and Casemiro starring as their opponents were pinned.

Vinicius' effort was parried by Serbia goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić on the patch of Richarlison. The Tottenham striker made no mistake as he tapped into an empty net.

Richarlison scored his second of the night with an incredible acrobatic effort to seal Brazil's win.

Richarlison and Alves hilarious handshake

In the dying embers of the match, Alves and Richarlison were spotted doing an incredible handshake to celebrate both the win and Richarlison's incredible second goal.

Funny this is, Alves made sure the camera was rolling before signalling Richarlison for the smooth handshake routine.

Both of them seemed to enjoy the handshake, which was evidence of Brazil's aura as football's entertainers.

Tite's side faces Switzerland in their next game, and a win could see them progress to the next round. Meanwhile, Serbia play Cameroon in their next Group G game.

Alves aims jibe at Mbappe

Sports Brief earlier reported on Dani Alves directing a dig at PSG and France star Kylian Mbappe, calling him selfish.

Alves suggested the young Frenchman is missing out on a glut of goals because he does not pass to Neymar and Messi enough.

There have been murmurings of a rift between Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain, with reports suggesting the pair have had a falling-out.

Alves has accused Mbappe of being selfish and failing to realise that his Paris Saint-Germain teammates, including Neymar and Lionel Messi, are bigger phenomena than him.
