Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo is not quite done with international football as the 37-year-old has disclosed plans to keep going after the World Cup in Qatar.

This is despite the fact that Ronaldo had previously claimed that the 2022 World Cup would be his last ever international tournament.

There is no doubt that Ronaldo is in the twilight days of his career, and this has been evident with his one goal so far in the 2022/23 campaign.

He is currently on international duty with Portugal, and on Tuesday, September 20, he was presented with an award at the Quinas de Ouro ceremony.

In his speech, Ronaldo expressed his desire to still guide the national team to more glory after winning the Euro 2016.

"I hope to be a part of the Federation for a few more years. I still feel motivated, my ambition is high.” He said as quoted on SportBible.
"My path in the national team is not over. We have many quality youngsters.
"I will be at the World Cup and I want to be at the European Championship."

Portugal’s World Cup group

Portugal were handed a might scare in their quest to qualify for the World Cup as they had to go through the grueling playoffs to secure their ticket.

They eventually saw off North Macedonia 2-0 in the playoff finals to qualify for the spectacle, where they will meet, Uruguay, Ghana and South Korea in Group H.

At Manchester United, Ronaldo earned a new nickname from the younger players in recent weeks.

Lisandro Martinez has christened the Portugal star El Bicho, which means someone who terrifies defenders.

The squad then registered positive results without relying on the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. But a recent post from Lisandro Martinez shows that the Portuguese can still turn around his relationship with the team.
