Ten Hag subsequently dropped him from his starting XI, with Marcus Rashford preferred to lead the line. Reports had also indicated that a number of United players wanted him to leave after it had emerged that he constantly failed to acknowledge their weaknesses.
The squad then registered positive results without relying on the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. But a recent post from Lisandro Martinez shows that the Portuguese can still turn around his relationship with the team.
Ronaldo scored his first goal of the season in the Europa League against Sheriff Tiraspol. According to the Mirror, Martinez commented on one of Ronaldo's posts and wrote, "El Bichoooo," which loosely translates to 'The Bug.' It means someone who can frighten defenders.
A Spanish commentator has also in the past called Ronaldo the same nickname for his exploits with Real Madrid.
Cristiano Ronaldo hugs a young fan who breached security to get to him

Ronaldo was part of Manchester United's squad that had travelled to Moldova to face Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League. As he left the hotel to board the bus, the young fan risked everything by evading the security personnel to get Ronaldo's attention.
In the video seen by Sports Brief, Ronaldo is alerted of the fan's presence, to which he then invites him in for a heartwarming hug. The fan was donning Ronaldo's shirt with his favourite number 7 on the back.
