Former Nigerian goalkeeper Emmanuel Babayaro has awarded a scholarship to a young lad for being respectful anytime he sees elders.
In a clip spotted on Facebook, the Atlanta 96’ gold medalist stated that the kid earned his respect for being cultured.
The 45-year-old former Plateau United goalie also took a moment to inspire the lad to continue his god behaviour, emphasising that it was what attracted him.
He said:

“If you are good and disciplined, good things will always come to you. You can see I don’t know you from anywhere, but your behaviour attracted me to you. And that is why I want to fulfill one part of my promise.
“I will be giving your dad money now to make sure that from now till JS3, your school fees is complete by God’s grace."
Sharing the clip, Babayaro added the caption:
"Kid earned my respect. 10 times outta 10 this kid crosses your path, he will prostrate and greet. Had to award him a scholarship. Heights!"
When Sports Brief contacted the Kaduna-born ex-international who is the elder brother of former Chelsea left-back Celestine, the former shot-stopper stated that he prefers to be silent about his acts.
He added:
"This is nothing in comparison to what I do daily, I’m a humanitarian philanthropist, this is my life.

Oliseh, Babayaro settle differences
Meanwhile, former Super Eagles players, Sunday Oliseh and Emmanuel Babayaro have finally decided to settle their differences 26 years after both players fell out with each other over a misunderstanding.
Both Babayaro and Oliseh were part of Nigeria’s celebrated Atlanta 96 Olympics football team that won Africa’s first gold medal at the Olympic Games.
26 years later, both players have now reconciled their differences in a video interview by ATHLST as Babayaro admitted to both players growing mature over the years.
