Former Super Eagles players, Sunday Oliseh and Emmanuel Babayaro have finally decided to settle their differences 26 years after both players fell out with each other over a misunderstanding.

Both Babayaro and Oliseh were part of Nigeria’s celebrated Atlanta 96 Olympics football team that won Africa’s first gold medal at the Olympic Games.

Babayaro had accused former Borussia Dortmund midfielder, Sunday Oliseh of conniving with Nigeria’s head coach, Bonfrere Jo to have him dropped as the first-choice goalkeeper of the team.

26 years later, both players have now reconciled their differences in a video interview by ATHLST as Babayaro admitted to both players growing mature over the years.

“When I shook his hands, he hugged me instead. I sat down for some seconds and I looked at him and tapped unto him and said to him something I’ve never thought I could say in this lifetime.
“Boy, am I glad to see you. I was honestly and genuinely glad and he said to me because we’re now matured now.”

Oliseh reveals Tijani Babangida was his only friend in the Super Eagles

Meanwhile, former Super Eagles captain and coach, Sunday Oliseh has also revealed Tijani Babangida was more than just a teammate to him when they both played for the national team.

Oliseh who also played alongside Babangida at club level with Dutch side, Ajax disclosed in the video interview that Super Eagles winger was like a brother to him.

Oliseh disclosed he and Babangida had always been there for each other both on and off the football pitch which made them really close.

Oliseh reveals 1 aspect of football that Osimhen is better than Yekini

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Super Eagles legend Sunday Oliseh has claimed that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is better and perfect in aerial ball than late Rashidi Yekini in the Super Eagles.

Rashidi Yekini was one of the best strikers in the world during his active playing time and he also remains Nigeria's all-time highest goalscorer in history with 37 goals.

Sunday Oliseh also explained that he tried to bring Victor Osimhen into the Super Eagles before re resigned as the coach of the national team.
