  • Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to smash a fan’s phone moments after Manchester United lost to Everton at the Goodison Park
  • The Portuguese sensation has apologised following the incident but the mother of the teenage fan is unhappy with the striker
  • Sarah Kelly stated that the scenario has affected her and her son and that she is not willing to meet with the footballer

The mother of the teenage fan who was involved in an incident with Cristiano Ronaldo at Goodison Park has declined the invitation to come to Old Trafford, Evening Standard reports.

ESPN reports that Sarah Kelly stated that her child has been left in shock following the incident and that he may not attend another game at the stadium.

Manchester United striker Ronaldo apologised for swiping the phone out of the young Everton fan’s hand, but police are investigating after mother Sally claimed her son was 'assaulted'.

Footage made the rounds showing CR7 smashing an object as it was alleged that he had grabbed it from a supporter’s hand.

And as the police continue their investigation, Sarah, the mother of 14-year-old Jake says she does not want to see the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. She said:

"It’s affected him more than it’s affected me, so I have put everything to him to make his own mind up on - he doesn’t want to go to United, he doesn’t want to go to see Ronaldo."

Also, Man United have reportedly launched a probe into an incident that occurred right after the Red Devils lost 1-0 at Goodison Park.

Man Utd fans criticise Red Devils

Meanwhile, Manchester United fans did not hold back in their criticism of the team after the team suffered a lowly defeat to Everton in the early kickoff on Saturday, April 9.

United were slight favourites to overcome a struggling Everton, who barely had 72 hours to recover after a gruelling away game at Burnley midweek where they lost 3-2.

But in front of their fans, the Toffees put up quite an impressive performance as Frank Lampard reintegrated the experienced duo of Fabian Delph and Seamus Coleman to try to upset the visitors.

The majority of the fans faulted their team’s style of play, while others expressed their pessimism at finishing in the top four.

Ronaldo hides away from the camera as he returns to Man Utd training

Sports Brief earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in training on Tuesday, April 12, in odd circumstances amid controversy surrounding him after the Everton match.

Following a miserable weekend that saw Manchester United lose 1-0 to Everton, Ronaldo returned to training despite suffering a bad cut on his leg.

In photos that are fast going viral online, the 37-year old is seen at the back seat of a car alongside two of his drivers who are seated at the front.
