Ghana Football Association Release Itinerary for Black Stars Versus Nigeria World Cup Play Off

  • The Ghana Football Association has released the programme line up for the upcoming game between the Black Stars and Nigeria
  • Ghana will host Nigeria in the first leg of their World Cup play-off in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium
  • The squad for the double header next week is yet to be released but the players are expected in town on Tuesday

The Ghana Football Association has confirmed players of the Black Stars will start arriving for the blockbuster game against Nigeria on Sunday, March 20, 2022.

The team will depart for Kumasi, where the game will be played on Tuesday evening and will training on Wednesday and Thursday for the game on Friday.

However, the squad is yet to be released with five days left for the first leg at the Baba Yara Sports stadium.

Interim coach Otto Addo will face the media on Thursday to answers question on the team's preparation for the big game.

Captain Andre Ayew and forward Benjamin Tetteh are out of the games due to suspension but the Al Sadd man is expected to be around the team to inspire them before the match.

Stade Rennais winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is also a doubt for the two-legged game after picking an injury following his return from AFCON.

Ghana to unleash Afena-Gyan against Nigeria

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that AS Roma teenager Felix Afena-Gyan has been named in Ghana's squad for this month's 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria.

The 19-year-old has been included in the coach Otto Addo's roster as one of the forwards to face the Super Eagles.

The promising striker has been monitored by the Ghana Football Association [GFA] after breaking into the first team of the Serie A giants.

Antoine Semenyo injured ahead of Nigeria clash

Antoine Semenyo picked up an injury again in Bristol City's Sky Bet Championship clash with West Brom on Saturday afternoon.

Nigel Pierson was forced to make an early substitution after the English-born Ghanaian forward went down with what looked like a hamstring injury.

Semenyo was named in the starting XI but was replaced in the 6th minute by Nahki Wells after struggling to shake off the injury he picked up during the game.
