Why thank Buhari?

While going about his duties during Nigeria vs Guinea-Bissau encounter, a Nigerian journalist and popular social media influencer, Pooja, spotted a section of fans raising a banner that captured the photo of the Nigerian president.

An inscription on it reads “please fix Yola-Belel road, Baba Buhari”.

Belel is a town in Nigeria, located near the Nigerian border with Cameroon and lots of economic activities between both countries are visible along that route, which is about 120 kilometres long.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Pooja wrote:

“Yesterday, I saw some groups in the stadium thanking the Buhari government for helping Garoua to grow economically.
“These are the fans inside the Garoua stadium saying their economy depends on Buhari administration.”

Nigeria making efforts to fix more roads

About three months ago, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) took a bold move to fix 21 of the nation's federal roads in all the six geopolitical zones, Legit.ng reports.

The NNPC's move which is estimated to cost N621.2 billion got the approval of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday, October 27.

The selected 21 roads are 1804.6 kilometres, and it was a strategic intervention under the Federal Government Road Infrastructure and Refreshment Tax Credit Scheme.

Back in 2020, the lawmaker representing Fufore Gurin constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Shaibu Babas, commended Buhari’s administration on the ongoing road reconstruction of Yola-Gurin and recent approval to construct Jabbi Lamba to Belel Road.

Sadiq Umar demands more support from fans

Sports Brief earlier reported that Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar has beckoned on all Nigerians to keep supporting the national team at the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon after Nigeria sealed qualification to the Round of 16.

Nigeria topped Group D after defeating title favourites Egypt, Sudan, and Guinea-Bissau in all her group games at the tournament.

Sadiq Umar who has featured in all the Eagles games so far in the tournament opened his goal-scoring account for the senior national team when he coolly tapped in from close range to give Nigeria the lead against Guinea-Bissau.
