Sports Brief understands Djurgardens are keen to land the services of Odhiambo as they look to reinforce their backline.

The development was confirmed by the club's sports director, Bosse Anderson, who divulged transfer talks involving the signing of the defender are already in an advanced stage.

“I know the name and can confirm that we have been in contact with the club and had discussions," Anderson divulged to footballskanlen.
"I can confirm that. We have a dialogue and know the player but it is not clear at all,” he added.

Odhiambo's imminent departure is expected to deal Gor a massive blow as they push to retain their grip on the Kenya Premier League title challenge.

He made his bow for Gor mid-2021 and has since established himself as a dependable squad player for the KPL giants.

Djurgardens, meanwhile, had an impressive campaign last season in the Swedish topflight as they finished third with 57 points, just two behind title winners, Malmo.

2 Kenyan referees officiate AFCON clash

Earlier, Sports Brief reported despite Kenya missing out on a slot in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon, the country does have two representatives in the competition.

Experienced referees Peter Waweru and Gilbert Cheruiyot are among more than 60 match officials selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate the 33rd edition of the continental showpiece.

The two made their first appearance in the competition on Monday, January 10, when they took charge of a Group C fixture pitting Comoros vs Gabon Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, Yaounde-Cameroon.
