Harrison Ashby was born on 14 November in Milton Keynes, in England. His father, Barry, played for Premier League clubs Watford, Brentford, and Gillingham, also as a defender. Harrison had an incredible childhood and was supported by his parents ever since he showed interest in the game.

He was in the books with Chelsea before signing for West Ham United at nine years old. He stayed with the youth group for a decade and performed incredibly well. In 2020, he signed his first professional contract with the team and made his debut on 15 September 2020 in a fixture against Charlton Athletic, where the Premier League side won 3-0.

He went on to play for West Ham United and made his Premier League debut on 15 December 2021 as an alternative to Pablo Fornals in a match against Arsenal. He continued with the team until 31 January 2023, when he joined Newcastle United at a $3 million fee. Ashby has also represented his national team, Scotland, in the Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 competitions.

On 31 January 2023, the 21-year-old made a Deadline Day signing from West Ham United to join the Premier League rivals Newcastle United. He is the son of former Watford, Brentford, and Gillingham defender Barry Ashby and acknowledges he would not be where he is without The Hammers. Harrison Ashby has signed with the Premier League side Newcastle United at a $3 million fee, including add-ons. This was a great move per the Magpies as they were searching for a new right-back to provide cover for Kieran Trippier, who also signed a new contract at the team.

The Scottish defender comes in alongside former Everton star Anthony Gordon, who left the Toffees after submitting a formal transfer request. The club announcement also confirmed Ashby's shirt number to be 30, which Christian Atsu and Nile Ranger previously wore.
