In the third round, he accomplished that feat in style, knocking out Rua with a brutal body shot and a knee to the head.

2. Jones vs. Vera (UFC on Versus 1)

Jones headlined the card at the first-ever UFC on Versus event, battling Brandon Vera in the light heavyweight division.

‘Bones’ ended up in Vera's guard in the opening round, a position considered safe from ground and pound.

That wasn’t the case here, with Jones landing a massive elbow on Vera, breaking his orbital bone. Jones took full advantage of that injury, teeing off on Vera, who was rolled over and turtled up. He gave the referee no other choice but to stop the fight.

3. Jones vs. Matyushenko (UFC on Versus 2)

Jones delivered another stunning knockout in the second Versus event held by the UFC, dropping MMA veteran Vladimir Matyushenko.

He took down the Belarusian fighter moments into the opening round, with Jones moving to a mounted crucifix position. It was game over when he got there, landing several unanswered elbows to Matyushenko’s head before the fight was called.

4. Jones vs. Gustafsson (UFC 232)

The first fight between Jones and Gustafsson was a classic, with the lanky Swede nearly pulling off an upset win.

Jones made sure the outcome of their rematch was beyond doubt, scoring a knockout victory in the third round. He dominated right from the get-go, utilizing his ground-and-pound technique to trouble Gustafsson in the first two rounds.

He then took full advantage in the third round when Gustafsson suffered a groin injury. After getting a takedown, Jones expertly moved onto Gustafsson’s back, knocking him unconscious with powerful strikes after flattening him out on the mat.

5. Jones vs. Sonnen (UFC 159)

Jones made mincemeat of Chael Sonnen in their light heavyweight title clash at UFC 159, defeating him by technical knockout in the first round, per Bleacher Report.

Sonnen came out swinging against the champion, but Jones proved too strong for him that night. ‘Bones’ unleashed his signature elbows on Sonnen after securing a takedown, forcing the referee to stop the fight.
