The Sacramento Kings are on the verge of their first NBA playoff series win after stunning defending champions Golden State Warriors in Game 6 on their home floor.

Monk came off the bench and finished with 28, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists as the Kings won 118-99 with a dominant performance. They evened the series 3-3 ahead of a do-or-die game 7 on Sunday at their home floor, Golden 1 Center.

Despite his finger injury, De'Aaron Fox had 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting with 11 assists, four rebounds, and three steals.

Monk on strategy vs. Warriors

Monk said they upped the ante because the Warriors are older than them.

“They were a little tired,” Monk said. “We were a little younger than they are, so we knew we could take advantage of that, so we’re going to try to do the same thing Sunday,” via the Sacramento Bee.

The Warriors core are in their 30s now. Stephen Curry is 35, while Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are 33. Considering there's only one day of rest between Game 6 and 7, it will be interesting to see if they can run the Warriors on Sunday.

Kings' bets players are in their 20s which suits their fast-paced style.

Mike Brown's team had several of their leads cut by the hosts but quickly extended their advantages, meaning the Warriors couldn't keep up with the visitors, who were sharp in every possession, per ESPN.

Curry and Thompson's reaction

Sports Brief earlier reported on Curry and Thomson reacting to a heartbreaking defeat to the Kings.

Thompson is confident his team will be ready for a crucial Game 7 on Sunday.

Curry added that their team made mental errors despite making a good preparation for the game.
