After going 0-2 down in Games 1 and 2, the Warriors rallied back and won three straight games, and many felt they were starting to get their mojo back.

However, in Game 6, they were outplayed and outthought by the Kings, who refused to quit. Meanwhile, the Warriors were complacent.

The defending NBA champions committed nine turnovers in the first half alone, resulting in 15 Kings points. Mike Brown's team also outscored his former team 30-16 in the paint and shot 40.7% from the field, compared to the Warriors' first-half season-low 27.8%, per ESPN.

Stephen Curry finished with 29 points, and Klay Thompson added 22, but the team shot an abysmal 37.6% from the field, per Bleacher Report.

Curry and Thompson react to defeat

The Warriors now face their first do-or-die game since the 2018 Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets. Curry said the team had mental errors despite having good preparation for Game 6.

"We just had a lot of kind of mental errors, and they took advantage of it and grabbed momentum early," Curry said. "I don't know if that was an energy thing or a focus thing, or whatever it was, but you have to be able to learn those lessons quickly," via ESPN.

Thompson is confident the team will show up for Game 7 at the hostile Golden 1 Center.

"It's up to us to go to Sacramento and do everything we did tonight but opposite, and I know we will respond," Thompson said. "I just know this team. I know these guys. I've played at the highest level with them and I know what we are capable of, and we will respond like the champions we are come Sunday."

The Warriors' championship DNA will be tested in Game 7. Will we see an end of an era, or do they still got it?

Thompson and Curry's bond

Sports Brief previously reported on Thompson sending a message to Curry after winning Game 4 at home.

They have played 12 full seasons together in the NBA.

The Splash Brothers have won four NBA titles and a plethora of individual awards during their time in the Bay Area.
