The Sacramento Kings stunned the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the opening round of the playoffs, their first win in the postseason since 2006.

The Warriors have been in this position many times before. They lost Game 1 of the 2022 NBA Finals but came back to win their fourth ring in eight years.

They led the Kings 61-55 at halftime but were outscored 71-62 in the second half, per ESPN. Steve Kerr is expected to make some adjustments to help his team steal a win on the road.

Questions about Kerr's rotation and Curry's minutes were raised during and after the game. The sharpshooter played 37 minutes on Saturday. Kevin Durant, in comparison, played 44 minutes for the Phoenix Suns against the LA Clippers. Curry finished the game with 30 points.

Curry on Warriors' confidence levels

Curry and the Warriors have had to come back from 3-1 down. Being 1-0 down is not a precarious position, but if their road record is carried to the playoffs, they'll need to turn up in Game 2.

He is not panicking, per the Athletic.

“That’s what we live for,” Curry said. “We thrive in these situations. It’s so different than the regular season because you’re playing the same team, and that little bit of an advantage mentally, seeing the game making those adjustments, it matters. … It brings the best out of us. And there’s a lot of confidence about what that looks like for us to try to, again, just win Game 2 and get back in the series and take it from there.”

The Warriors will need to execute better against the Kings and find a way to stop De'Aaron Fox, who was impressive in Game 1, scoring a game-high 38 points.

Fox leads Kings to Game 1 win

Sports Brief earlier reported on Fox producing an epic performance to help the Kings register their first playoff win in 16 years.

Fox took until his sixth NBA season to reach the playoff stage. He scored 29 of his 38 points in the second half. Sacramento finished the third quarter strong, unleashing a 15-4 run to take a 91-90 lead entering the fourth quarter.

The game went back and forth in the fourth quarter, but the Kings managed to clinch a narrow win.
