The box score does not do justice to his performance. The 38-year-old came up clutch in regulation. He tied the game with 0.8 seconds remaining in regulation with a superb layup over Defensive Player of the Year, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Xavier Tillman Sr.

He also made more clutch plays in overtime. He made a layup late in overtime over Dillon Brooks to give the Lakers a 113-108 lead, per the Athletic. Los Angeles are now just one game away from advancing to the second round of the playoffs.

James reacts to 20/20 game

After the game, the 20-year NBA veteran said it was cool to record that stat line.

"I've done some pretty cool things in my career," James said. "I've never had 20 and 20 before. So, that's pretty cool, I guess," he said, via ESPN.

That stat line is his first after 1,693 regular-season, play-in, and postseason games. He is now the oldest player to achieve the statistical mark since Wilt Chamberlain did it at 36 in 1973.

Anthony Davis finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks. Austin Reaves led the team in scoring with 23 points, while Jarred Vanderbilt scored 15.

James ignores Brooks' jibes

Sports Brief earlier reported on James dismissing Brooks' jabs after the Lakers' 103-93 defeat in Game 2.

The Grizzlies swingman called LeBron old and said he would only respect him if he scored 40 points on him.

James disregarded comments possibly the most hated player in the NBA, responding he was ready to play.
