  • LeBron James has described his 20th season in the NBA as 'fun'
  • 'The King' became the NBA's all-time leading scorer in February
  • The Los Angeles Lakers started the season 2-10 but ended 43-39

The 2022/23 season has been one for the record books.

Luka Doncic's 60-point triple-doubles, 71-point games from Donovan Mitchell and Damian Lillard, and several off-court moments have made it memorable.

However, LeBron James passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's all-time scoring record is the best moment of the season - one which he described as 'fun'.

The Los Angeles Lakers finished 7th in the Western Conference, securing a play-in spot but their season was far from perfect. They started 2-10 and appeared doomed for the second straight season.

However, wholesale roster changes before the February 9 trade deadline gave the 17-time NBA champions the impetus they needed to fight for a playoff spot, per ESPN.

And they did - becoming the only team in nearly two decades to start the season 2-10 and end with a winning record, per CBS Sports.

Meanwhile, the 38-year-old produced a great individual season. He finished the 2022/23 NBA season averaging 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists. In year 20, that is impressive.

Moreover, the biggest moment in his career came on February 7 when he become NBA's all-time leading scorer, after surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record that had stood since 1984.

James reacts after year 20

After the Lakers beat the Utah Jazz 128-117 to end the season with a 43-39 record and a play-in spot, James took to his Instagram to react to the just-concluded season.

"Easter Sunday’s Best!! My last regular season game in year 20 was fun fun fun!!!! To be continue folks! Love."

The most important part of the season begins on Tuesday when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament. He knows the threat the Timberwolves pose.

"It's a challenge versus everybody, and Minnesota is no different. When you got guys like [Karl-Anthony Towns] and Anthony Edwards, those guys can both go for 40 against you... You have a very cerebral, solid point guard in Mike Conley who's been in multiple playoff games. So, listen, we know what we're getting ourselves into," James said via ESPN.

Only time will tell if he can win title number five.

James wants a father-son team-up

Sports Brief also reported on James revealing his ambition to play with his son, Bronny when he eventually joins the NBA.

James' son is not eligible to play in the NBA until the 2024/25 season under the current collective bargaining agreement.

Waiting for his son to play with him would require the four-time champion to play in a record-tying 22nd season.
