Moises Caicedo scored one of the goals of the season with a sensational effort from the halfway line on Premier League final day.

Chelsea went against Bournemouth for their final game of the season, hoping for all three points, which would boost their chances of qualifying for Europe.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side took the lead in outrageous fashion, with their British-transfer-record signing getting the opener in the 17th minute.

The Cherries goalkeeper Neto came off his line to quell Raheem Sterling, who was running onto a through ball.

Neto did well to keep off Sterling before successfully challenging Conor Gallagher, as the ball retreated to the halfway line to meet Caicedo.

Noticing the goalkeeper was off his line, the Ecuador international took one touch before attempting an audacious chip from 40 yards, leaving the entire stadium stunned.

The goal was a significant one for Caicedo on a personal level, as he ended his 47-game drought since signing for the Blues.

Similar goals to Caicedo’s

Caicedo’s goal brought back memories of other Premier League legends who attempted the audacious long-range strike and succeeded.

According to The Guardian, former Manchester United midfielder David Beckham scored a similar goal against Wimbledon during the 1996/1997 season

Other players who have scored long-range goals in the Premier League include Wayne Rooney, Maynor Figueroa, Charlie Adam, Xabi Alonso and Luis Suarez.

Chelsea end season with win

In terms of the game, Chelsea went 2-0 up through Raheem Sterling shortly after the break, but The Cherries responded almost immediately through Enes Unal's strike, which deflected off Benoit Badiashile.

Chelsea held on for the win, to ensure they ended the season in sixth place, above Newcastle and Manchester United.

The win means Pochettino’s side is guaranteed European football, although they will have to wait a little longer to find out which competition they will be competing in, according to the club website.

Jurgen Klopp creates chant for Arne Slot

Sports Brief also reported on the hilarious chant Jurgen Klopp created for Arne Slot in his final speech as Liverpool manager.

The Reds secured a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, May 19, in Klopp’s final game in charge.

The 56-year-old will be replaced by Slot, who has managed Dutch side Feyenoord since 2021.
