Booker: Suns are no superteam
Many people are talking about Phoenix’s fearsome foursome, and Devin Booker was asked about this superteam during Thursday’s media session.
Booker quickly rejected that label, saying that the Suns’ lineup does not belong in such a conversation, per Sports Illustrated.
He explained that they only had one All-Star this year: KD. Booker is correct, as he, Paul, and Ayton failed to make the All-Star roster this season.
That being said, Booker and Paul have been chosen to play in All-Star Games before. Booker is downplaying the Suns’ strength because he believes being called a “superteam” would only distract them from their ultimate goal of winning the championship.
Booker expounded on the issue, saying:
“I just don’t do all the titles and stuff, man; that’s for you guys and everybody else. I know we have a really talented group; I think, enough to get to where we’re trying to go and finish what we’re trying to do. So, that’s my main focus; everything that’s said about us will come regarding how we finish.”
