This timeline is different from the one Brian Windhorst presented in his report for ESPN. He estimated that Durant would make his Suns debut as early as Sunday against the Milwaukee Bucks.

When did Durant hurt his knee?

The 14-year NBA veteran has not played since spraining his MCL on January 8. Durant suffered the knee injury while playing for Brooklyn in a victory over the Miami Heat. His knee got damaged when he collided with Miami forward Jimmy Butler, per Yahoo! Sports.

A lot has changed for Durant since then. After three tumultuous seasons with the team, the three-time Olympic champion was traded from the Brooklyn Nets.

He was shipped off to the Suns in a blockbuster deal that sent Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, and four unprotected first-round draft picks to the Nets.

That trade made the Suns the favorites for some to win the NBA championship this year. It all depends on the health of their star players, particularly Durant.

He participated in his first practice session with his new team on February 13.

The Suns still ruled him out for their final two games before the All-Star break against Sacramento and LA Clippers. Durant’s minutes will likely be limited during his debut.

Durant explains Big 3 failure

Sports Brief recently reported on Kevin Durant getting emotional while discussing his stint with Brooklyn.

He spoke about his time with the Nets and why the Big 3 failed to deliver the results so many were expecting.

He said they needed more time on the court, with Durant, Irving, and James Harden playing 16 games together.
